Head of Finance

Agxecutive is currently recruiting a highly qualified and experienced Head of Finance for a Multinational Seed Company with a global presence. As the Head of Finance, you will play a crucial role in driving the company’s financial strategy and ensuring the efficient management of financial operations. This position will be based in the Romanian subsidiary, located in Bucharest and will report administratively to the CFO for Europe and functionally to the Business Unit Head – Europe.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to company strategy by providing financial analysis and guidance across all business areas, challenging assumptions, and supporting decision-making;
• Generate monthly financial statements for different categories (crop-wise, region-wise, country-wise) to keep the organization updated on its financial position;
• Collaborate with business leads and stakeholders to address financial performance concerns and assist in annual budget preparation;
• Maintain control over financial transactions and manage the company’s liquidity through coordination with key stakeholders;
• Foster business partnerships and strong relationships with peers, colleagues, and key stakeholders;
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis, escalating issues to crop teams when necessary;
• Provide high-quality financial management information and professional advice to senior managers;
• Develop and motivate the team reporting to meet their deliverables to the highest professional standard;
• Ensure the company’s financial systems are robust, compliant, and support current and future growth;
• Liaise with group companies and Mumbai Headquarters for MIS reporting, audits, compliance, etc;
• Contribute to overall corporate reporting on financial position and explain variations;
• Manage inventory and conduct monthly reconciliation with the supply chain team;
• Coordinate transactions (purchases, sales, banking) with the Dutch accountant;
• Provide strategic financial guidance to the Eastern Europe team;
• Assist in budgeting and LRP preparation;
• Support the Business Lead in achieving business objectives;
• Oversee credit control and credit insurance matters;
• Prepare monthly MIS and business analysis reports;
• Prepare information for S&OP and ALT meetings;
• Prepare for Business Review Meetings;
• Monitor cash flows.

Requirements:

• Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance with 10+ years of relevant experience in similar business partner-oriented roles;
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex financial information concisely;
• Ability to adapt to a complex and changing environment, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting;
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing tight deadlines and delivering high-quality work;
• In-depth knowledge of VAT, corporate taxes, and other financial compliances in Romania;
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for financial reporting and analysis;
• Strong expertise in management accounting, financial planning, and analysis;
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead teams effectively;
• Hands-on experience with financial software such as SAP, ABS, and BW;
• Ambitious with a strong desire to learn and grow professionally.
