We are looking for an exceptionally skilled and experienced Chief Accountant in Timișoara, for a prominent company in the Romanian agricultural industry. In this role, you will hold a crucial position in overseeing the company's financial operations, ensuring compliance with IFRS standards and optimizing financial processes using SAP. Knowledge of the English language is mandatory, German is a BIG plus, as well as previous working experience in a German/Austrian organization. This position is ideally suited for candidates located in or in close proximity to Timișoara.   Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee and manage the company's financial activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting;
  2. Ensure compliance with IFRS standards in all financial statements and reports;
  3. Utilize SAP software for efficient and streamlined financial operations, including transactions, reporting, and analysis;
  4. Lead the accounting team, providing guidance and support on complex accounting issues;
  5. Collaborate with other departments to optimize financial processes and improve cross-functional efficiency;
  6. Monitor financial performance, conduct analysis, and provide insights and recommendations to support business decisions;
  7. Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and timely completion;
  8. Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations, IFRS standards, and best practices;
  9. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the accounting team.
  The most suitable candidate has:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
  2. Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA is preferred;
  3. Fluency in German and English is essential for effective communication within the company;
  4. Strong knowledge and understanding of IFRS standards and their application;
  5. Proven experience as a Chief Accountant or in a similar senior accounting role;
  6. Proficiency in SAP software and experience in utilizing it for financial operations;
  7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  8. Strong leadership abilities with the ability to manage and motivate a team;
  9. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and the ability to meet tight deadlines;
  10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

  • systematic feed-back offered to all candidates contacted/interviewed in the executive recruitment processes and maintaining contact with the candidates employed during the induction/guarantee period and beyond;

B. Secondary responsibilities in the field of operational marketing:
  • conception and development of a recurring online communication and brand awareness initiative on social media channels and on the company's website, including a personal branding component as a consultant for our company;
  • technical support and product management for the company's business development and consulting projects related to agricultural technologies and inputs;
  • administrative assistance, when necessary, to maintain the company's support functions within normal parameters.
